Link to Me!

Here are some pretty amateur looking banners (pardon my Microsoft Paint skills) that you can use to link to this blog.

Thanks for spreading the love!

Not Ronan Malloy too!!!!

Let me start by expressing my lust for Ronan Malloy (a.k.a. Jeff Branson).  He is hot, a great actor, and a definite asset to the Y&R cast!  I truly hope he stays.

For my American friends, let me give you a brief look at Monday's upcoming episode.....

Nina struggles to let go of Chance hoping there is a better way to keep him safe without him having to leave.  She is assured that no, there is no better way and that this is what needs to be done until this trial is over and the corrupted officials are convicted.  In the meantime, she apologizes to Ronan for all of the hateful things she has said in the past.  He forgives her.  She tells him that she doesn't want to lose him too but he informs her that he is leaving with Chance.  He's FBI and the case in Genoa City is finished.  They have some nicey nicey talk and there are hugs all around.  Ronan and Chance get in the car and drive off.  In the meantime, Victor visits Heather and offers to financially back her campaign for DA in exchange for her reopening Adam's case and going after him with everything's she's got.  She doesn't give him an answer.  Nicki confides in Paul that she's feeling overwhelmed and unsure of things but tells him she hasn't drank.  He encourages her to go back to her AA meetings.  Chloe confides in Jill about her feelings regarding Chance's death and finally has a little mini-breakdown.

So, now that I've gotten that out of the way.  Let's talk about Ronan.  There are so many ways the writers can bring his character.  First off, GC will be looking for a new police chief since the old one is now somebody's bitch in the slammer.  Second, they can focus on the development of his relationships with both Nina and Chloe.  Third, he can help Heather bring down Adam.  There are so many options and openings.  When looking online at spoilers, etc., there is some knowledge that Jeff Branson's contract has been extended through November so it's hopeful that he will come back in one of the above capacities.

Just to remind you how hot he is... here are some photos for you to admire.

I Should Be a Y&R Writer!

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

Seriously, I SHOULD be a writer on this show.  Yesterday's episode showed Nina losing it on Chris and Ronan.  She finally agrees to talk to Chris who promises that everything will make sense.  They drive Nina and Phillip (haircut, please!) to some remote location where they come face to face with Chance.  Adorable, lovable Chance.  It's a great, big happy reunion until Chance informs them that he's going into witness protection because of the bust and that this may be the last time they see each other.

Now, think back to when Chance found out that Ronan was his brother and went to confront him at his apartment.  Chance walks in, they fight, the next shot shows Ronan telling Chance (while wiping his fat lip) that, "That's the whole story."  At that very moment, I knew what was happening - Chance was now in on the action and the death was fake.  In fact, I think EVERYONE could have called that one.

Poor Nina though.... she goes through all of the emotions of losing her son only to find him again and in her moment of elation, he tells her that no, the last time they saw each other wasn't the last time, THIS is the last time they will see each other!  That poor woman!  From what I've heard on some Y&R sites is that Chance goes away and later comes back with a new actor taking on the role.  And how convenient that as one son goes away, she suddenly falls madly in love with the other one who just so happened to save her original son's life and is now the hero!  But let's be honest, there's something incredibly hot about Ronan.

So, now that the whole Chance isn't dead thing is over and all of the creeps have been arrested, more storylines will continue where they left off.  I have to say, though, that I have enjoyed this storyline lately.  I am wondering how they will have Nina acting now that she has to pretend to grieve Chance's death knowing that he's not dead.  And how long until she tells Paul???

Here are some brief thoughts on some of the other storylines and characters.....

Chloe and Ronan ~ great together!
Cane and Lily ~ suddenly her hair magically grew back incredibly long!  Sick of the Aussie storyline
Billy and Victoria ~ love them!  I couldn't stand her until this storyline started
Jana ~ get rid of her.
Phyllis ~ can't stand her. How the hell is she a woman scorned when she was the homewrecker to begin with?
Nick and Sharon ~ let them find happiness together!
Jill and Lauren ~ I'm over it.
Mac ~ GET RID OF HER!  Horrible acting, horrible storyline!
Heather ~ Bring back Vail Bloom!  This actress is driving me crazy!

How It All Began....

About 23 years ago, I was sleeping over at my cousin's house for the night.  It was a Friday at 4:30 p.m.  Her older sister turned on the television to none other than the Young and the Restless.  I don't really remember what that first episode was, but I know that I was hooked watching Nicki say the name, "Jack".  It was actually quite comical the way she overpronunciated the J in his name.  So much so that we ended up taping the episode and playing it back and pausing it over and over every time she said Jack.

Since then, I have tuned in regularly to Global TV every day at 4:30 p.m. to watch an episode of my favourite, and longest viewed television show - The Y&R.

I have wanted to write a blog for a long time.  I thought about writing about my family (amazing husband and two very handsome sons), but we're pretty boring and so I didn't think I'd have anything exciting to write about.  I thought about writing about my passions - cake decorating (for which I have a home-based business), teaching (my other job), music, photography, reading, amongst other things.  None of them really seemed like something I would want to write about on a daily basis.  So, as I got thinking, I decided to write about something I know a lot about, something I enjoy (most of the time), and something that gets me passionate.  It doesn't mean that those other topics won't find their way into this blog, but the Y&R is the very thing I have been looking for!

And so now it begins.  For any Americans reading this, I will be posting based on the Global TV episode that we Canadians get to watch the day BEFORE CBS airs it's episode.  Therefore, unless you want some spoilers, I suggest you visit the day after the blog post.

I look forward to hearing from other Y&R fans and viewers.  This is NOT a place where I want to start arguments.  It's simply my platform to talk about the show and my thoughts and opinions on plotlines, characters, writing, etc.  If you disagree, you are entitled to, but I will not engage in any arguments or heated debates about my views and opinions.
